How does steinbeck convey Lennies animal qualities?
He is like a bear when he sitcks his paw in the water.
What is georges arritude toward lennie?
George need lennie to take care of him and help him get a job.
Explain the connection between the mouse and Weed.
The mouse and weed are similar because Lennie likes to pet soft things.
Describe georges dream in this section.
George is dreaming of not having to live with lennie and having his own land and propery.
Do you think the dream is realistic? Why or why not?
Yes they are. Because one day since lennie is mentally challenged he will have to go to a hospital and george will live on his own and make his own money.
1. Steinbeck conveyed Lennie's animal like qualities by comparing his hands to a bears paw, and also comparing his manner of drinking water to a horse.
2. In this section, George feels the need to take care of Lennie, despite how much Lennie aggravates George. However, he stays with Lennie because they've known each other for so long, and therefore George feels responsible for him.
3. In Weed, Lennie had an incident where he tried to pet a woman's dress and was accused of rape. Lennie's mouse is furry and soft, just as the woman's dress was and he really wants to pet it.
4. In this section, George dreams to own his own ranch with Lennie and be able to make a living.
5. In our opinion, his dream is realistic because it seems that George and Lennie have enough patience, determination, and skill to get to a point where they have enough income to buy their own property.
Group members: Leah, Melissa, Mikayla, Keegan, and Aldrin.
1.Steinbeck conveys lennies animal like qualities by saying that he drinks like a horse, and that his hands are like bear paws.
2.Georges attitude in this section is a very angry personality because he cant live the way he wants to because Lenny is'nt exactly a normal guy who gets into trouble most of the time.
3.The reason why George and Lennie were runout of Weed was because Lennie wanted to pet a womans dress, the connection between the dress and the mouse is that lennie likes to pet soft things, and the dress was soft so he wanted to pet it.
4.George and Lennies dreams are to one day own a farm together, and settle so they dont have to keep moving around.
5.We think that Lennie and Georges dreams are realistic because when George and Lennie work they would save up enough money to but that farm they always wanted.
Group: Sierra,Lex,Abby,Angelica
2.(cont.)George stays with Lennie because he doesnt want Lennie to kill himself,or want anyone to hurt him. They have also known each other for a while and George knows there is no one is really going to take care of him so he takes responsibility for Lennie.
1.He is compared to a horse and a bear.
2. He gets very angry at lennie because he doesnt know how to listen to directions and he is distracted easily. He is also a very forgetful person. He stays with lennie because he knows that he cant make it through life alone.
3.in Weed lennie wanted to feel the dress and with the mouse..he wanted to pet it.
4. They want to own their own farm with rabbits.
5.We think that their dreams are realistic because it benefits both of them. Lennie likes rabbits and George wants a better place to be.
Tati,Brayton, Christian, Dallas
1. Steinbeck conveys lennie as bear when he goes down to scoop the water out of the pond and a horse when he sluros the water up.
2. George chooses to stay withl lennie because since they've known each other for so long he feels kinda like a father/ older brother figure to lennie.
3. The connection between lennie's mouse and what happened in weed is that he likes to pet the mouse because of it's soft fur but kills it by accident not knowing his strength. In weed he wanted to feel the girls dress but not knowing his strengh he couldn't let go.
4.George and lennies dream is to raise a large amount of cash and buy a farm with rabbits, chickens, and some alfalfa for the rabbits.
5. I think it is a realistic dream because since their workplace feeds them and takes care of most of there needs they can use there money strictly to save up for the farm.

Okay...here are my comments and assessments:
--Bryson's Group: Congrats on being the first to post! Be careful, though, there are quite a few mechanical errors (misspelling, etc) and there's also some confusion about which character is which. The answer about the mouse & Weed needs to be developed as does the answer about the relationship between George and Lennie. Assessment Score: AS (2)
--Leah's Group: Thoughtful job on post. Keep George and Lennie's dream in mind because it will recur during the novel. Assessment score: ES (4-)
--Sierra's Group: Good job on discussion post. Good development of question 2 in second post :) Assessment score: ES (4)
--Christian's Group: Thoughtful responses, especially where you discuss the dream and how it benefits both of the characters. Assessment score: ES (4)
--Chad's Group: Excellent job; responses are thoughtful and detailed. Nicely supported with specific examples! Assessment score: ES (4)
