1) The tourists from the mainland don't have much common sense to realize that no matter where you go, whether it's swimming, hiking, or visiting natural landmarks, there's always a possibility of death or injuries and left at your own risk.
2) The government should know that many tourists come to Hawaii for sight seeing and vacationing, so in order to keep everyone safe and to avoid law suits, they should put more signs and warnings around the area for tourists to be more cautious.
-Angelica, Lex, Melissa
The groups decision is that the all of the incidents except the rockslide and the cliff had sufficient warning signs and did not deserve compensation
Postions Statements:
The safety of tourist is their own responsibility.
The tourist should have enough common sense to know the possible danger they are in and the risk they are taking so it is their fault if they get injured.
The state needs to put up proper signs in the area of the tourist attraction warning the tourist of possible dangers, so tourist know the risk they are taking.

Group: Bryson, Leah, Jerica, & Sziezel
- Visitors should have the responsibility of being informed when visiting a foreign place.
-They enter at their own risk and must depend on their common sense.
- The state shouldn't be liable if trails or sites are nt an official state approved tourist attraction.
- At well known sites, the state should post warning signs in easily viewable areas.
Our position statement is that both the government and the people is responsible for the deaths and faults caused by the decisions made. For the people, they had decided to enter the areas without using common sense of the surrounding possible dangers on the island, and the government is responsible for not alerting the people or saying that there is a danger.
Okay, here are my comments on your assignments:
Angelica, Lex, Melissa: You do include opinion in your statements but you could state them more concisely. Your statements need to come to a clear point more quickly.
AS (2)
Chad: Your group needs to do a much better job of following directions. Group members are not listed, so I can't give credit. You have one opinion statement; you were assigned three.
AS (1)
Brayton, Lachae, Christian, Mikayla: Your group has the three required statements, pretty clearly stated. Could distinguish better between the first and second statement.
MS (3)
Bryson, Leah, Jerica, Sziezel: Great job! Clear opinions, concisely stated.
ES (4)
Aldrin's Group: Like Chad's group, you need to follow directions. I can't give credit when team names are not included. You also posted one statement that didn't take a definite position, rather than three clear position.
